Sundial Garden
Sundial Garden: photograph by Marianne MajerusA Machiavellian garden indeed. These twin borders in high summer are bursting with many varieties of paniculata phlox, delphiniums, hollyhocks and early dahlias. By September the transformation is complete and we have massed ranks of asters of all shapes and sizes which glow in the weakening light until the end of October.
An Arts and Crafts oak gate, designed by Lesley Jenkins and Susan Mather and beautifully made by Chris Mather, leads back into the Lanhydrock Garden.
